The Barkley’s moved into my neighborhood a couple of years ago and ever since then I have been dying to photograph their teenage girls.  I have been inspired to photograph some sisters together for a while and knew they would be perfect for what I had in mind.

So you can imagine my excitement when their mom mentioned that she would like to have some family pictures taken by me. We scheduled the session including their extended family members AND their dogs as well:) The men took some extra convincing of course but after assuring them that we would only need them present for about an hour they eventually agreed (it’s funny how men have such a strong aversion to cameras:)

To keep it convenient for everybody I decided to shoot in my home instead of using my downtown studio. The shoot started off with the 4 ladies getting beautified by my talented Hair and Make up artist followed by their own individual mini photo session. Meanwhile the men were watching football in the comfort of their home and as promised they only had to show up when we were ready for them…. it worked out perfectly!

Fast forward two weeks; the viewing session went great! I had no doubt the ladies would love the images BUT dad’s reaction really took me by surprise and honestly just made my day!  He was not only amazed by the images but on my way out the door he already started talking about the next family shoot next year.  I think I might have converted one man into believing in the importance of  photograph:)
