Please introduce yourself and your business Jennie

I’m a nationally certified Master groomer I’ve been grooming dogs for 34 years. While I have worked with dogs in almost every capacity in my career from working at a vet to driving a dog sled, grooming has always been my passion. I’m a single mom of the most creative free spirt of a girl who is 19. All while she was growing up we bred and showed dogs and they have been an important corner stone of who we are. 

I own Dogs Own Daycare and Grooming. We are Loveland’s Premiere Dog grooming salon and daycare. Our specialty is helping owners to solve their problems with dogs. Be it how to socialize a puppy, help with dogs with separation anxiety, help owners with grooming needs to fit their lifestyle and solve coat and skin problems. We meet with each owner individually to determine how we can best help the owners and pets who we get the pleasure of working with.

Why are you so passionate about working with animals?

How have you and your business been effected by COVID-19?

Starting March 17^th we had to close our daycare, there were just not enough dogs to keep it open. So we tried to continue to groom dogs with a skeleton crew, then on March 25^th we got the order that we had to close. I had to lay off 11 employees. In order to take care of my staff I had to pull money from my retirement to be able to make payroll. It has been very hard and concerning. I don’t know if we will be able to reopen. I’m hoping that we will as I love our clients and feel deeply worried about how they are doing. 

How can we support you during this difficult time?

At this point I think the thing we could use help with the most, Follow us on Facebook, If you are a client, can you leave a positive review on google? We will be offering for people to prepay for grooming or daycare, that could be used for future services between June and December of this year. If you are a client in either daycare or grooming please keep your pets with us. You can help us by not moving them to another facility or groomer. I promise that we will get everyone taken care of, just be patient with us.

My take away from this whole situation has been most clients appreciate us and all we do for them, they are rooting for us. That we are all in this together and that everyone is feeling the struggle. No one could have planned or prepared for this, it is unprecedented.
